Introduction

Water Adventure Engineering processes personal data of its customers, potential customers, and other contacts. We do this to execute any potential agreements. In this privacy statement, we explain why and how we process your personal data.

Which personal data does Water Adventure Engineering process?

  • Legal obligationsA small part of our processing is legally required. This mainly concerns personal data needed to comply with our tax obligations.
  • Newsletters and mailingsOccasionally, we send newsletters and/or mailings. Sometimes these are personalized based on specific actions you have taken or products and/or services you have purchased from us. You always have the option to adjust your preferences for receiving newsletters and mailings.

Automated decision-making

Water Adventure Engineering does not make decisions based on automated processing (algorithms) that could have adverse consequences for you.

Rights of data subjects

  • Rectification: Do you think we have incorrect data about you? Let us know, and we will adjust it.
  • Erasure: You can delete the personal data we have about you. It may be that we need to process the data for other purposes (e.g., administration or deduplication).
  • Restriction: If you think we are processing your personal data unlawfully or incorrectly, you can also restrict that processing.
  • Objection: You can object to the processing of your personal data. If it concerns marketing, we will stop that processing as soon as possible.
  • Portability: This is a new right under the GDPR to transfer your personal data. If you want to use this, please contact us.

Additionally, you can also:

  • Withdraw consent: For example, for receiving mailings. If you want to withdraw consent for another processing, you can contact us at info@wae-engineering.nl.
  • File a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (DPA): Do you think we are not acting in accordance with privacy legislation? Then, of course, we would like to hear about it. You can also file a complaint with the DPA.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Personal data should not be kept longer than necessary. The retention period depends on the purpose for which we have received or collected the data and any statutory obligations to retain data.

If you requested a quote from us but did not become a customer, we will delete your data no later than two years after our last contact. Also, if we received a quote from you, but we did not become your customer, your personal data will be deleted no later than two years after our last contact. If you did become a customer, or we became your customer, we will retain your personal data for seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement with you was fully executed. The seven-year period corresponds to the period within which we are required to retain our records for the Tax Authorities. After this period, we will delete your personal data.

Legal grounds for processing:

As explained above, we process some data to comply with a legal obligation, some to perform an agreement, and most to pursue the legitimate interest of Water Adventure Engineering: to achieve our objectives. Disclosure to third parties

In connection with executing a potential agreement with you, we may need to provide your personal data to parties that supply products and/or services to us or perform work on our behalf. We also use external server space to store (parts of) our sales and purchase administration, of which your personal data forms part. For this reason, your personal data is provided to our server space provider.

We take the protection of your data seriously and take appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized modification.   • Access to personal data from mobile devices is restricted and actively monitored.
  • DKIM are internet standards we use to prevent you from receiving emails from us that contain viruses, are spam, or are intended to obtain personal (login) data.
